Charleston Festival is an annual festival at Charleston House, the former home of the Bloomsbury Group, in Sussex. During 10 days of talks, conversations and performances the festival brings together today’s most exciting artists, writers and changemakers to engage with art and ideas.

The 2022 festival included over 100 speakers exploring topics ranging from books, poetry and writing, to fashion, film, science and politics.

The lineup included the musician and activist Bob Geldof, actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Jonathan Pryce and Sheila Hancock, journalist and podcast host Deborah Frances-White, writers Damon Galgut, Armistead Maupin, Sarah Moss, Jacqueline Wilson and Monique Roffey, scientist Jim Al-Khalili, lawyers Clive Stafford Smith and Lady Hale, journalist Emily Maitlis, fashion designers Kim Jones and Zandra Rhodes, and many more.

Pup designed the furniture for the festival including an entrance arch, bar, box office, book shop and signing desk and the backdrop for the main stage.

We developed a bespoke wood stain pattern which unified the festival furniture. The pattern was developed through a cutting and shuffling technique to distribute the wood stain patterns across the wooden panels of the furniture.
